Standing Ovation for Tequila

No matter your taste in movies, there's a good chance you're familiar with the Academy Awards. And no matter which year it is, the Academy Awards presentation is always a spectacle. While some things have remained the same, others have changed over the years. We chose 3 of our favorite nominees and created their perfectly paired cocktail.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK - Cadillac Margarita

A familiar taste with an updated twist. Top Gun: Maverick maintained the SOMETHING of the original while still managing to stand n it;s own. There was no other choice for us when it came to picking the cocktail for Top Gun 2, we could look no further than the golden Cadillac Margarita

1.5oz Reposado

1 oz Cointreau

1 oz fresh lime juice

1 oz Grand Marnier

Flakey sea salt, for the rim

For the garnish: Lime wedge

Cut a notch in a lime wedge, then run the lime around the rim of a glass. Dip the edge of the rim into a plate of flaky sea salt (or for a festive look, use our Margarita Salt).

Place tequila, Cointreau and lime juice in a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir until cold.

Strain the margarita into the glass with the salted rim. Then carefully pour the Grand Marnier onto the top of the drink over an inverted spoon (float it!). Serve immediately.

AVATAR - Blue Coconut Spritz

As the Avatar franchise moves to the deep blue sea, so does our Los Sundays Academy Cocktails. We couldn't think of a more fitting cocktails than this Blue Coconut Spritz created by Cocktails by Allie

1.5 oz Los Sundays Coconut

1 oz Blue Curacao

Top with Ginger Ale

ELVIS - The City Slicker

A movie about the King himself, Elvis, we needed to make sure that this cocktail was as smooth as his vocals but as rememberable as his dance moves. Ladies and Gentlemen, the City Slicker.

1.5 ounce Løs Sundays Reposado

.5 ounce Luxardo Amaro Abano

.125 ounce Gran Classico

1 Small Dash Marie Leveau Tobacco Bitters

Coffee Bean Bourbon Rinse

Strain and pour into your serving glass and garnish with an orange peel and lemon peel.
